Jared's Story

2020 was a tough year on everyone, but was especially tough on Jared. He was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy in both eyes and was told without surgery he would be blind in 6 months. He had surgery in one eye twice and unfortunately both of them were unsuccessful, leaving him blind in one eye.

That same year he was diagnosed with Stage 4 kidney failure, but that part ends on a good note. His fiancé happened to be a match and donated her kidney to him so he's been dialysis-free since 2021.

As all these things were happening, he created a mission to see everything he could before he lost his sight. First thing on that list was to see his fiancé walk down the aisle in her wedding dress. In March 2022, that was crossed off. That's how the visual bucket list was born.
